Sam Worthington’s development Clash

Sam Worthington hopes the ‘Clash of the Titans’ sequel will ‘rectify the mistakes’ the first film made.

The Australian actor – who played Perseus in the critically-slammed but commercially successful movie alongside Liam Neeson and Gemma Arterton – plans to have a different take on the first movie in the upcoming sequel by improving his performance and getting a new haircut.

He told Total Film: ‘It got roasted but it made half a billion dollars. And when we do the second one we can rectify the mistakes of the first.

‘I want to change Perseus. For a star, don’t have a fing shaved head. This time I’m going to have ringlets.’

Arterton recently revealed she was looking forward to developing her character Io and hoped she could have more interaction with Liam Neeson and Ralph Fiennes.

She said: ‘It’s always interesting, when you’ve done something, to revisit it ’cause you have a different take on it.

‘You remember the experience and can develop from there. It will be interesting. I really liked working with the actors, and hopefully I’ll get to work with Ralph and Liam on this next one ’cause I didn’t last time.’

Edward Burns and Genesis Rodriguez have joined the cast of Summit’s thriller “Man on a Ledge,” being directed by Asger Leth.

The project, which begins shooting this month in New York, stars Sam Worthington as a fugitive ex-cop perched on the ledge of a high-rise building while a hard-living NYPD hostage negotiator (Elizabeth Banks) tries to talk him down. The longer they are on the ledge, the more she realizes he might have an ulterior objective.

Jamie Bell and Anthony Mackie also have been cast in the film.

Rodriguez plays Bell’s girlfriend who, along with Bell, tries to prove Worthington’s innocence. Burns is a rival negotiator who tries to swoop in when he believes Banks has a conflict of interest.

The screenplay was penned by Pablo F. Fenjves and rewritten by Chris Gorak and the team of Erich and Jon Hoeber.

Lorenzo Di Bonaventura, Mark Vahradian and David Ready will produce via the Di Bonaventura Pictures banner.

Burns, whose most recent major studio movie was “27 Dresses,” recently wrapped production on “Nice Guy Johnny,” which he directed and stars in. He’s repped by WME.

For Rodriguez, the “Ledge” deal falls on the heels of her nabbing the female lead in “Casa de mi padre,” Will Ferrell’s Spanish-language comedy. She’s repped by ICM and manager Ivan De Paz.

EXCLUSIVE: Elizabeth Banks will play the female lead in Man On A Ledge, the Asger Leth-directed Summit Entertainment drama that stars Sam Worthington, Jamie Bell and Anthony Mackie. Banks will play an NYPD crisis negotiator who tries to talk a suicidal detective (Worthington) off a ledge. She has a past relationship with the ex-cop, who was framed for a crime he didn’t commit, and found his way to the ledge after escaping when let out to attend his father’s funeral. It’s actually a diversion, as his brother (Bell) is pulling a heist across the street. Script was written by Pablo Fenjves, with Darkest Hour scribe Chris Gorak doing a rewrite and Red scribes Erich and Jon Hoeber doing a final polish. Pic is shooting in New York in November. Banks will next be seen starring opposite Russell Crowe in the Paul Haggis-directed The Next Three Days, and she stars opposite Tobey Maguire in The Details. She just wrapped My Idiot Brother and continues playing Alec Baldwin’s love interest on 30 Rock. Banks also signed on to star as Tinkerbell and produce Tink for Disney.
